Leeds 1 – 4 Youghal United
After waiting a long time for their first game of the season Youghal came out of this game with a great result and performance and the result was never in doubt.
United looked the better team in the first half and took the lead early when Tommy Kenefick was on hand to open the scoring for Youghal and a few minutes later Eric Murphy got the first of his two goals.
The home side were not playing well and United got their third just before half time when Murphy struck again.
Considering this was the first game for the lads it did not show. Leeds battled well in the second half but United kept up the pressure and could have increased the lead, hitting the bar twice, but the fourth goal did come shortly before the end when Ollie Dempsey rounded off a fine display for the lads.
