Report: Anthony Horgan.
It is with regret to announce that the Youghal United Junior team is to be withdrawn from the league with immediate effect. The squad has been going through some rough times recently in trying to fill a team at weekends especially on Sunday mornings. A good management team was in place in Pat McCarthy , John Heaphy and Ray Fraser and the committee are at a loss as to why the players didn’t give them committment at the weekends. Also , I would like to add that at the begining of the season a delegate team from the club went to meet with the Munster Senior League board to put a case forward and convince them that the Juniors would see out the season if they allowed us entry into the league as this is not the first time this has happened. Now the club is left with egg on it’s face again and in the forseeable future will find it impossible to enter a junior team. It has cost the club in fine’s for not fulfilling fixtures and also lost a bond that was put up at the start of the season. In conclusion everyone is dissapointed with the players involved and finally I would like to thank Pat McCarthy , John Heaphy and Ray Fraser for their time and effort.
